October 7, 2009

Ithaca, New York—The CBORD Group, Inc., the leading provider of one-card systems, food and nutrition management technology, and integrated security solutions to colleges, universities, and healthcare facilities, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2009 CBORD® Excellence Awards, presented recently at its 30th annual User Group Conference in Baltimore, MD.

The Visionary Award was presented to The Ohio State University in recognition of its innovative use of CBORD solutions to improve service and reduce costs in Campus Dining Services. The university uses Foodservice Suite® to improve efficiency and reduce costs through intelligent forecasting and central ordering for its many units, as well as online solutions such as Webfood®, NetNutrition®, and NetCatering® to offer its university community the latest technology solutions.
The One CBORD Award went to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas for its smart integration of CBORD solutions for food service, nutrition service, and cashless purchasing. Texas Health uses the Odyssey PCS™ cashless system along with Foodservice Suite and Nutrition Service Suite® to streamline processes in accounting, ordering, inventory management, and more. As a result, Texas Health management has seen measurable results including improvements in productivity, lower expenses, increased revenue, and improved employee satisfaction and patient safety

The Above and Beyond Award went to Jason Rossi, Director of One Card and Campus Security Systems at the University of San Francisco, for his exemplary service to both his own university and the greater CBORD user community. Jason’s expertise in campus card and access control management—including an extensive implementation of wired, wireless, and offline readers—is shared with his fellow CBORD users through customer listservs, user group conference presentations, and one-on-one consultations with other universities, making him an ideal recipient of this award.

“These customers are using CBORD solutions to reduce costs, drive revenue, and enhance safety and security. We are pleased to congratulate them on their well-deserved recognition,” says Cindy McCall, Vice President, Marketing, The CBORD Group, Inc. “CBORD solutions provide mission-critical services to universities and hospitals around the world, and the strength of our user community is a testament to their strategic value.”
