CBORD’s Quality Testing Featured Topic at International Conference

Ithaca, New York—The CBORD Group is pleased to announce Michael Wills, RD, Quality Assurance Director, will present a paper at the Ninth International Conference on Software Quality in Boston. In his paper, titled Functional Reliability, Wills describes the quality testing procedures he developed and implemented for CBORD's quality assurance program. The conference is sponsored by the American Society for Quality, the organization responsible for the Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award application review.

With 20 years of experience in software development, Wills believes the integration of quality testing procedures based on functional reliability leads to a better final product. "This is a powerful quality assurance technique," he said. "With the functional reliability method, we have a measure of the impact each issue could have on our users."

Wills says that the primary benefit of this approach to quality testing is its contribution to product development. The functional reliability method facilitates interdepartmental discussions about system release, providing a focus for discussion and a context in which to make product release decisions.
